The urban tone concept consists of three distinct yelp tones folowed by a high frequency burst sweeping between 3000Hz and 7000Hz and then a 'dead time' which attracts attention like a flashing light. In addition to the urban tone, the siren output may be switched on either HIGHWAY or URBAN power.
Highway power is a full 100 Watt output. Urban power is 15 Watt output. Urban power is designed for operation in a built up area, the lower power minimizing the amount of sound echo. The urban tone is not intended to warn pedestrians, cyclist and motorists in the immediate area of the direction of approach of the vehicle. Highway mode can be selected if greater sound penetration is required, i.e. heavy traffic conditions. The siren retains the standard yelp and wail tones and operates as normal in the unique 'hands free mode. |

Hands Free operation allows the driver to turn the siren ON, activate the YELP, WAIL ot TWO TONE/PIECER tones and turn the siren OFF from the vehicles road horn buttons. hands free control allpws the driver to control the siren system without taking his eyes off the road and hands off the streeing wheel. All systems offer this feature. |
